Soma Samadhi Yoga & Dance

Soma Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training is a Registered Yoga Alliance Program designed to develop intelligent and effective teachers who will safely adapt the yoga practice to the individual needs of their students. The program is based on exercise science and kinesiology to insure that students thoroughly understand how to work with healthy individuals as well as special populations. A variety of class formats will be taught including vinyasa flow, heated yoga, restorative, and yoga therapy. Students are encouraged to find their own voice as a teacher and their own unique style of teaching. All graduates will be prepared to teach beginner through advanced yoga programs. Students may start with any of our Trainings & Workshops either towards the goal of Yoga Teacher Certification or to simply deepen their experience of Yoga Practice. Successful completion of all of the workshops below will enable students to join the Yoga Alliance as an 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher.

 Soma Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training Level One

This training course covers Yoga practices for the general population. The asanas (poses) are beginner friendly and focus on helping individuals move with more grace and ease in everyday life. We will award a Certificate of completion to all who complete the course hours.

Curriculum:

  • Asana
  • Functional Anatomy
  • Alignment and Movement Analysis techniques
  • Teaching techniques for basic asana classes
  • 12 Yoga Classes at the Studio to be completed at your own pace after the Weekend Program

Time Commitment: One Weekend Workshop (19 hours) plus 12 Practice Classes (15 Hours)

Soma Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training Level Two

This training course will cover intermediate and advanced asana. We will be focusing on understanding healthy and normal joint range of motion and building a greater understanding of human movement.
We will also learn pranayama (breathing exercises) and their proper applications.
All students will practice teaching the asanas and pranayama exercises.
We will award a Certificate of completion to all who complete the course hours.

Curriculum:

  • Intermediate and Advanced Asana
  • Movement analysis and working within a normal range of motion
  • Pranayama
  • 12 Yoga classes at the Studio to be completed at your own pace after the Weekend Program

Time Commitment: One Weekend (19 hours) plus 12 Practice Classes (15 Hours)

 Soma Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training Level Three

This training course covers the deeper practices of yoga. Students will learn about bandhas and mudras (practices that redirect energy in the body) and how to implement these practices into their own yoga practice and teach these practices to others. Students will also learn how to meditate using a variety of techniques such as, mantra repetition, breath work, and affirmation. Students will also be trained in Mindfulness techniques. Mindfulness is the process of paying attention to the present moment while maintaining a sense of equanimity. Over the course of the weekend, students will learn mindfulness techniques and how to teach these practices to others. We will award a Certificate of completion to all who complete the course hours.

Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Workshop

In this workshop students will learn how to teach yoga to all populations. We will also take an in depth look at how to design an appropriate yoga prescription for common injuries.

Style and Brand Development Workshop

In this workshop teachers will develop their own individual style and voice and learn how to brand, market and create a business strategy. We will also practice exercises to help students connect to their Life Purpose and set clear goals for their yoga careers.

Anatomy, Physiology & Energy Systems Workshop

This course covers the basics of Anatomy and Physiology of the human body as well as an introduction to the Energy Systems of the body.

 Yoga Philosophy Workshop

In this course students will read and discuss the ancient texts of yoga and learn how to take these ancient practices and apply them to modern life.

Yoga Lifestyle Workshop

 We designed our Yoga Lifestyle Workshop to address the needs of individuals who are looking for results and have a desire to make positive lifestyle changes. Our program will dive deep into the specifics of food and exercise as medicine.

Mentorship Program

This program is the final component needed to complete the requirements of the Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Certification. It consists of leading classes, class observation and receiving feedback. Students will also be required to complete designated written homework assignments. There will be ongoing mentorship for the duration of this course.
